LATEX

So these latex leggings are the most amazing things ever. Even if they aren't latex at all, just very black and shiny spandex. But hey, it's the look that really matters, and I wouldn't expect anything else out of the Wet Seal $5 clearance bin :D

I wear them a lot, but here's how I wore them Saturday, with a gray tunic and vest. (You may notice that the vest is the EXACT SAME vest as the black one, only gray). (I'm boring like that, and I also realized I tend to overuse parentheses).
Not a very flattering angle for the picture, I tend to take outfit pics by placing my camera on my bed, turning on the self-timer, and dashing over to the other side of the room. I SWEAR THAT IS NOT A MUFFIN TOP, and implore you to look at the leggings in all their loveliness and not at me.

DIY Margiela jeans

So ever since I first saw a DIY of these Margiela ripped jeans over on Style Bubble a few months ago, I've been wanting to take a pair of scissors to some of my old jeans and create my own DIY version. Unfortunately, I am the world's biggest procrastinator. I never actually got around to doing it.

That is, until about 9:30 last night when I had a sudden NEED to make them and wear them the next day. Here are the step-by-step photos of the entire process (because I like to take pictures!)
The jeans before. And yes, those are my lime green leopard sheets. The jeans are just a pair of Arizona for JCPenney jeans I got sophomore year and never wore them much because as it turned out one of the legs was sewn crooked so the seam always worked its way around to the front of my leg.
With some of the slits cut into the legs. I decided to make more but narrower rips in them, I didn't want them to have huge gaping holes like the originals. My poor legs would freeze that way! And eeew, I just realized there's a hella dirty plate laying on a stack of books on my floor in the picture. I'm a slob, there's no hiding it now.
The finished product, worn plain with a white t-shirt. They need to be washed and thrown in the dryer so they can really fray, but I'm still happy with them.
And finally what I wore them with today- pink tights from Target, gray t-shirt from Wet Seal, and that black vest I end up wearing with EVERYTHING, which I got at Younkers. And I wore them with converse, which once again I forgot to put on before taking a picture (I'm always in a hurry in the morning!)

Dress Porn

Found this editorial over at Foto-Decadent. It's from Vogue Italia February 2009, and shot by Tim Walker (I LOVE Tim Walker).
Basically this is what I have been drooling over all week. Black and lacy and unabashedly feminine. I want a parasol RIGHT NOW.

Fishnetty

It's been a week, but here it is as promised: an outfit post. This is what I wore today:
I'm happy because my camera took a picture that isn't blurry for once :)

Although my legs and feet are cut off. So just imagine fishnet stockings and silver ballet flats there (because that's what's there). I've been feeling goth-y with regards to my outfits all week, hence the black lace and fishnets. I really want some fierce studded and/or buckled ankle boots to wear with it to toughen it up a little, though.

These are both from Aldo:

Actually Aldo has all their sale boots half off until Friday. I really wish I had money because I would be ALL OVER that sale. I'm about this <----> close to taking money out of my savings, putting onto my debit card and buying some boots.

I'm Baack!

So, I haven't posted in approximately forever. I don't even have a good excuse, just laziness in general and being tired of winter!

However, it's slowly getting warm out and I'm slooowly going to get posting again.

Today I bring you my new favorite thing ever: Henrik Vibskov. I came across these pics of his show on Coutorture and was amazed. I am in love with the bold geometric patterns, especially in teal and gold. (The teal reminds me of toothpaste, but in a good way). (On a side note, I love wearing teal, red, and white together in one giant toothpaste-tube-colors-inspired ensemble).

Not to mention the cuts of some of the dresses are amazing. I am imagining myself wearing the navy one in particular in about 50 different ways. Let's just say I love all of it and I wish it would all appear in my closet tonight!

These are only my favorite three looks (yes, one is a man, but I like the jumpsuit nonetheless) but I've linked the rest.

Hella four day weekend coming up! No school tomorrow OR Monday! I promise my next post will be an outfit, and it will be amazing!

New Dress

I got this new dress this weekend when me and my mother went shopping. We got really good deals from the holiday sales, and managed to snag 4 things at Younkers for less than $30. Which was nice because Younkers is one of the pricier department stores here, and everything was originally about $50 apiece.

This dress is especially adorable, wasn't to keen on the square neckline at first, my my mother insisted it looked good so I went with it. You can be the judge, but I've decided I really like it after all.
And here's a closeup of the shoes. They're Aldo but I got them for $18 at a consignment shop. SWEET. They're really comfy too for being on the tall side. A lot of people said they didn't understand how I can walk in them, but I really don't think it's hard!

Tuesday

This is what I wore today.

I like the ankle-revealing cut of the pants especially.

And I've been having such a hard time getting pictures with decent lighting, my camera is a piece of shit and it gets dark out at like 4:00 this time of year. So as a result my outfit posts never look nearly as good as they do in real life.

Oh, and it's snowing again.
