Finally: Zebra Dress

I wore this Friday to a movie with my boyfriend and my gay friend. We saw Nick & Norah, it was pretty funny. I liked it, at least. And now we have a reason to say "why isn't the choir boy wearing any pants?" at odd moments.

Only one pic, and the quality stinks- I'm sorry :( The computer is running really slow and that's all I had time to put up.

Ridiculousness!

So my second period class at school is computer art. I usually start the period off by reading blogs, and then hastily finish whatever project I'm supposed to be working on in the last 10 minutes of the class.

I was amused to find that Bleach Black, which I've been reading in class for sometime, is now blocked. When I tried to get to the page this morning the big "This Page Is Blocked" page popped up to tell the that the category "sex" is filtered, and I'm not allowed to view the page.

Will someone explain to me what a fashion blog has to do with sex and why I can't read it?!

Glorious Shifts: Part 2: Guess What I Got?

So, I went to Starbucks with Dylan today. And then we decided to go to the mall because a) It's a lot more fun to drink coffee while walking around looking at things (although admittedly I sometimes have a hard time drinking while walking *blushes*) and b) I wanted to look for places that were hiring to fill out job applications. Being unemployed is only fun until you run out of money :P

I ended up NOT even looking for apps because I went into Rue21 and found a sale. And of course, already inexpensive clothing+huge discount= uh-MAZING. I got 2 dresses for $4 each. And they're cute and shifty! Observe:
So It's not exaaaaactly a shift. but it is short and flirty and zebra and has RUFFLES! As I said before, I am all about the ruffles. I have a great idea to wear it tomorrow which of course I will post later.
This one is, in fact, a banded shift. In nice wintery blacks and grays. I wanted to to wear a dress today but then discovered that all my dresses are sundresses. So now that has been remedied!

I find it amusing that I used my easel to take pictures of clothes. Probably not what my parents had in mind when they bought it for me :)

Oh, and here's what I wore today (well, out to coffee, not to school)
My room is filthy. I wouldn't be surprised if it's breaking health code lol.

Glorious shifts :)

So, I really have been wanting some shift dresses for the past few days. Like a lot of them. So I can throw them over some tights/leggings, put on some boots and look instantly cute without having to try too hard :)

Here are a few I've been ogling over the internet:

Both from American Apparel, obviously :) I like the gray one especially. It looks like something that I would actually wear a lot. I like the idea of the skintight mauve one, but I'm not sure how I would actually like wearing it.
This one's from Target. I could see it a little shorter, but I LOVE the color and it's from target (which is amazing), so I might actually go try it on in store. It has a cute little neck ruffle too. And I'm all about the neck ruffle.

Speaking of shifts, I've convinced my friend Luke to help me make a dress out of an old plaid flannel shirt, since he can sew and I can't. Well, I can make a straight seam, but that's about it. Hopefully we can get started this weekend, after a trip to Goodwill and a good rummage through my dad's closet. Pictures will be posted when it's finished, of course :)

Divine Retribution

This is what I wore to school today. Very plaid. Very autumn. Very school (lol).

What you can't see is that I am wearing those silver flats again... the grass was too long and I didn't notice until after the picture was taken. However, the gods of fashion apparantly decided enough was enough. I got inside after my little photo session only to realize I had stepped in poo. And I tried to wash it off, and I think I got it off, but they still smell TERRIBLE.

Guess I'll have to find something else :D

Hopefully I'm going out tonight- if I do I'll change anyways.

Oh, I did get another shot of the outfit, I moved because the lighting was bad and the picture didn't show the detail. But I kinda like the effect. Very... ethereal.
Or maybe I just need a better camera. lol.

Sparkles!

So Monday night me, my extremely metro friend Luke, and my boyfriend Dylan went shopping. And yes, Dylan voluntarily goes shopping with me. He's such a good boyfriend :D

Luke got some jeans, and I got a gray sequined tunic at Express. It's shiny.

I wore it for the first time yesterday, just with skinny jeans and my owl (which I wear all the time). I apologize in advance for the crap quality, I took them myself in the mirror because I didn't have a chance for anyone else to take them. I went home from school sick.

I love tunics, although I sometimes wish I was shorter, so I could get away with wearing just a tunic and leggings. Unfortunately, if I did that, there would be an indecent amount of butt hanging out! But still, I love the loose fit of them. So comfy :D

I took a close up to show the detail, since the sequins didn't show up the the full body shots.

I love it! I want to try wearing it with shorts and tights, but it's so cold!

I also gauged my ears up to a two. Which is pretty big:

That hurt!

Sunday Rehearsal

So today is the Quad Cities Youth Symphony fall concert. And I'm playing in it. So I have to leave in about 10 minutes to go to the dress rehearsal, and then the concert is after that. Fortunately "dress rehearsal" does not actually mean I have to wear my concert uniform for it... the white, long sleeved blouse and black dress pants we have to wear are pretty hideous.

Here's what I have on right now:
Sweater: thrifted, jeans: JCPenney, owl necklace: Charlotte Russe

You can't see my shoes, my brother took the picture and he doesn't understand what "take a picture of my outfit" means, but they're just silver ballet flats. I wear them a lot.

Senses Fail

... is probably my favorite band EVER. And on Friday me, my boyfriend, one of my good guy friends, and his girlfriend all drove up to Poplar Grove to see them. (Okay, technically my bf's mom drove, but whatever). And it was SO COOL!!!! I feel kinda lame describing it like that, but that's all that really needs to be said- they played great and put on a good show. Although they didn't play Bloody Romance, which I really wanted them to since it's my favorite song, and I was a little surprised they didn't.

I didn't really get too dressed up, since I knew it would be hot and crowded and nobody would be paying any attention to me, and there was also a 2 hour car ride involved and I wanted to be comfy. I apologize for the bad quality, I took them in my dimly lit room after I got home.
I decided dark stretch jeans and a pink leopard tee was suitably rockin' (lol) without being too much. If I was wearing this anywhere else, however, I think I would have worn a vest or something over it. maybe a scarf.

Shirt: Hot Topic, Shoes: Rocket Dogs, everything else: I don't really care :)

My [Long] First post!

Okay, so here's my third attempt at having a fashion- themed blog. I've had two before (with the same name because I really like the name), but didn't keep them up for very long. Various crazy life situations tend to distract me from blogging. But I think that much like keeping a diary, this could give me something to keep my self occupied (and sane!) with.

I've gotten quite lazy lately in all regards, especially school, which is not good because I'm trying to get into colleges this year... *crosses fingers*. But I've lately been trying to actually get everything done and establish some kind of routine for myself. S0 maybe this time I WILL learn some self discipline.

I like how I start rambling about my life before saying anything about myself. I'm seventeen. I live in the middle of nowhere, IL. Well, not really, I live in a small city type place, there's about 100,000 people or so in the area. But I live in a smaller town outside of the actual city. There's about 2200 kids in my school. Most of the girls at my school wear nothing but sweatpants, uggs, and American Eagle logo tees. Which is probably one of the reasons I like the fashion blog community so much. I love fashion, but to be honest, there's not really any inspiration in my hometown. I like reading blogs from girls all over the world, it's amazing how much creativity there is out there with regards to choosing an outfit!

Enough ranting. I give you my outfit for today:

Hoorah for kind of not really matching. I think the tights were too black, I have a bluish pair with a cool texture that would have looked better but idk where they are lol. And the shoes KILL my feet because they are half a size too small, but they were on a super good sale, so I got 'em anyways. Theyre not so bad, except after wearing them for more than 3 or 4 hours.

Shoes: Antonio Melani, skirt: Piama (both from Younkers), tee: Arizona for JCPenney, cardigan: decree for JCPenney, belt: stolen from my mom :D

On a side note, the red stain on my cardigan is fake blood. You see, in art class today, our teacher taought us how to make fake blood and gore with dermal wax and whatnot, so I made some really good emo cuts on my forearm, but it got smeared onto my cardigan between Photo One and Photot Two. I was pissed- I LOVE this cardigan. It has two of my favorite cloting characterisitics: nubby texture AND the color mustard yellow. Fortunately I got it off.

And don't even be hating on JCPenney, their new Decree line is actually really cute, and their sales are bomb. And my mom can be convinced to shop there :D
